Scared straight
05 May 2004

At the end of the day, I got in the elevator and was soon joined by a colleague. He asked me how it was going and I said fine; I reciprocated and he answered likewise. Then, after a short pause, he said, "Actually, I hate this job."

"Well," I said, "I appreciate your brutal honesty."

I highly recommend Mean Girls. I know I'm not the first to say this, but I think it's aimed at least at much at adults as it is at teenagers.

Also got the new David Cross album. Very smart, right down to the track listing.

Yesterday in Borders I heard Broken Social Scene over the store speakers. Juxtaposition, cognitive dissonance, etc.

I ran three miles on a treadmill this evening while watching the news about Abu Ghraib. And I have to say, I'm scared.

But then, I scare easily.
