Teach a man to fish, part two.
14 January 2003
The man I gave money to the other day was standing at the intersection again today. All I had in my wallet was a twenty. I was the first person at the light, too. I tried to avoid eye contact, but I could see out of the corner of my eye that his arms, usually holding his sign, were at his sides, he had stopped pacing, and was now staring at me. I think I saw him nod in my direction. The corners of my mouth involuntarily moved downward into a frown.
