The absenter clause
18 October 2004
My computer took a big dump, so I no longer have a computer of my own. More specifically, the hard drive died. I suspected as much when I first got the dreaded flashing question mark at startup, but took it to a Certified Genius at the Apple Store to have my suspicion confirmed, and he helpfully said, "Yup, your hard drive's gone." The silver lining in all of this is that most of the writing and photos I've generated since my last backup (in Augustshut up) are scattered in various locations around the Cybermation Infobahn, so not all is lost.
Also, I'm going to New York. The Missus and I are leaving tomorrow morning. So Win, Nick, etc: if you haven't heard from me yet, you will soon. Or give me a ring. I might even answer the phone.
Next stop NYC. Expect corresponding text/images in this space soon.
