Found a job
12 January 2004

It's not what you know.
It's who you know.

I got a job. Not a shitty job, either. As far as I can tell. I won't bore you with the details here; let's just say it's in graphic design. Because that sounds impressive, and it's mostly true. Now I am blasting the Talking Heads song "Found A Job" even though the lyrics themselves have nothing to do with finding a job.

Today Sonya and I went all crazy and declared a jihad on Home Depot. Then we went grocery shopping, came home, and cleaned and rearranged the apartment in order to elicit surprised and delighted reactions from our respective significant others. It's a thoroughly enjoyable living space now. New DVD player + The Family Guy + beer/food in the fridge + clean apartment = me not having to leave home for a long time, except possibly to go to Tuman's or the Rainbo, or maybe Home Depot again. I can never get enough of that place, apparently.

And Margaret will be here tomorrow. Three cheers: one! two! three!

"So Jake. Now that we're Tumaneers, this is the dawning of a new Aquarian age."
